Rattan
A living material · hand-woven
A climbing palm from South-East Asia, rattan is a living material: steamed or flame-heated, bent over wooden moulds and then hand-woven in our workshops, following a process unchanged for a century.
Warm and supple, it is the historic material of Parisian terraces. Recommended indoors and in sheltered outdoor settings, it can be repaired and rewoven — to last for decades.

The lacquered aluminium frame faithfully reproduces the lines of our rattan models, with the same hand weaving, the same colours and the same weave patterns.
Lighter and impervious to the weather, it is designed for exposed terraces and intensive professional use — without giving up any of the decorative character of the house.
All about our materialsThe Cézanne chair perfectly exemplifies the quest for comfort that emerged in the aftermath of World War I (1914–1918). With its tall, wide backrest, topped by a unique arch that also provides protection from drafts, the light rattan version was a best-seller at Maison Louis Drucker for many years. Found in restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, on ocean liners, and in private homes, its wide backrest invites creativity in terms of caning patterns and colors. Today, it is enjoying a resurgence in popularity among a new generation drawn to vintage style and comfort that is both natural and authentic
