DESCRIPTION

These armchairs, all in rattan with natural fibers, are a precious reminder of the early days of rattan furniture manufacture. In 1885, there were no synthetic fibers, not even dyed. The manufacturing process was truly based on the natural product. Malacca or Manila rattan for the structure, Malacca or Manila rattan for the rattan fiber taken directly from the rattan poles, as if with a peeler. A plant: rattan ; the skills of the rattan-maker: the beauty of a simple, natural product that never goes out of fashion.
