Robert Stadler

Robert Stadler

Robert Stadler is an Austrian designer, born in 1966 in Vienna.
Robert Stadler studied design at the IED in Milan and then at the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCI) in Paris, where in 1992 he co-founded the Radi Designers group. The collective remained active until 2008. Since 2000 he has been living and working solo in Paris.
Robert Stadler works across very diverse fields, blurring any hierarchy between independent projects and industrial commissions.

He explores the exhibition space to dispel the divide between art and design, questioning the status of the object as either artwork or product.
His work is held in several private and public collections, such as the MAK — Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna, Les Arts Décoratifs, the Fondation Cartier and the French Fonds national d'art contemporain (FNAC). He is represented by Carpenters Workshop Gallery, and works for clients such as Dior, Lobmeyr, Palais de Tokyo, Ricard, Thonet and Vitra.
MAISON DRUCKER produced an entire furniture line — blending rattan and aluminium — designed by Robert Stadler: the CORSO line, which includes an armchair, a chair, a stool and a high-chair for children.
