Rattan
A living material · hand-woven
A climbing palm from South-East Asia, rattan is a living material: steamed or flame-heated, bent over wooden moulds and then hand-woven in our workshops, following a process unchanged for a century.
Warm and supple, it is the historic material of Parisian terraces. Recommended indoors and in sheltered outdoor settings, it can be repaired and rewoven — to last for decades.

The lacquered aluminium frame faithfully reproduces the lines of our rattan models, with the same hand weaving, the same colours and the same weave patterns.
Lighter and impervious to the weather, it is designed for exposed terraces and intensive professional use — without giving up any of the decorative character of the house.

From 1915, the Cézanne chair perfectly illustrates the quest for comfort born from the post-war period of 1914-1918. With its high and wide backrest, crowned with an original rattan brace which also protects against drafts, this light rattan chair has been a Maison Louis Drucker bestseller for many years.
