Renoir

The eccentricity of the Renoir rattan chair by designer Philippe Model stands out from the classic furniture by Maison Louis Drucker, which has already produced a wealth of original models since its creation in 1885. The frame is made of rattan, in this case light rattan or Manila rattan. The seat is made of wood, but covered in weave only in the center, leaving two wooden margins exposed, like a parenthesis highlighting the weave and the colors. The top of the backrest, a new feature, is in elegantly curved wood. The weave is very special: side by side, the 20 colors of satin-finish synthetic fiber run like a thousand stripes from the top of the back to the edge of the seat, with regular jacquard stitches. The other originality, and this is Philippe Model's 'signature', is the profusion of colors - 20 different colors for this chair. Curiously, and this is Philippe Model's talent, the feeling is to seem a single sparkling color.
