Robert Stadler

Robert Stadler is an Austrian designer, born in 1966 in Vienna.
He studied design at the IED in Milan and then at the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in Paris, where he co-founded the Radi Designers group in 1992. The collective remained active until 2008. Since 2000, he lives and works solo in Paris.
Robert Stadler intervenes in very diverse fields, erasing any hierarchy between free projects and industrial orders.
He explores the exhibition space in order to dissipate the divide between art and design. He questions the status of the object as a work of art or a product.
His work is present in several private and public collections such as the MAK – Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna, Les Arts Décoratifs, the Cartier Foundation and the National Fund for Contemporary Art (FNAC). He is represented by Carpenters Workshop Gallery. He works for clients such as Dior, Lobmeyr, Palais de Tokyo, Ricard, Thonet and Vitra.
MAISON DRUCKER has produced a whole line of furniture combining rattan and aluminium designed by Robert Stadler: the CORSO line which includes an armchair, a chair, a stool and a high baby chair.
